CAROLINE THOMAS is a homebred for Bonner Young and is named for a Grandchild who is already deep into the DRF. We are happy to have some photos to share of Caroline Thomas and Caroline Thomas - a wonderful family both human and horse!
As well as being named for a Grandchild, special is that the equine Caroline Thomas is the first foal out of BIT OF WHIMSY winner of the Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup (G1,9fT),the Mrs. Revere S. (G2,8.5FT), and the Sands Point S. (G3,9fT). BIT OF WHIMSY was also bred by Bonner Young and descended from her blue hen mare Highland Mills. Although she hated the race track, Highland Mills became the dam of 2 G1 winners, 2 G3 winners, 2 stakes placed horses, and the granddam of another G1 winner, and 2 G3 placers.
Recently winner of the Lake Placid G2 by a DQ, CAROLINE THOMAS was inches from getting her nose on the wire first and she was impeded. Barclay said: "She ran a splendid race whether we got put up or not, she was only beaten a couple of inches. She ran the race we've been looking for. "
